Still Crazy Busy!!!
It would seem that things are never going to slow down here in Guatemala. That is a good thing. I am not sure what is going to happen at the end of August once teams start to slow down. Well maybe a little sleep but I know I have gotten way behind on the sponsorship program so I hope to get that caught up along with the first letters going out to families.
The past 2 weeks have been a blur. We have concentrated on San Miguel for the past 2 weeks to love on people, love on teachers and get our feeding program off the ground. I am very happy to report that all is well in San Miguel and people are being blessed. Last week we had some crazy people from Magna View and Mt. Pisgah Baptist Churches come down and bless the school. They were able to build a brand new kitchen for the school and gave well over $5,000 in supplies and chairs. The school was so happy. We also held a VBS in one of the schools and saw over 100 salvations!!!!
This week we have had a team from Trinity Baptist Church in Cordova,TN come down and bless 10 families beyond measure. We started the week building 10 houses in 1 day! Then o Monday we built 9 Chicken Coops and on Tuesday installed 10 stoves and had a clothing tienda for 36 families.. In our free time we had Bible school for about 400 kids. It has been a crazy week but one filled with Salvations. We have seen over 120 people come to Christ this week. So for the past 2 weeks that is well over 200 folks and tons of people helped through many different ways.
With all of this going on it has been crazy for us as a family. for a year now we have been praying and asking God to help us find some more people to come here and help us!!! Well God has heard our prayers. We are very excited to announce that we have a new family to add to our team here in Guatemala!!!!!!! Charles and Kim, Makenzy, and Malory Van Valkenburgh will be moving down as full time missionaries in 2011!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please be praying for them as they start to make the transition and start raising support. I hope to have a bio up by next week so you can get to know them. The photo here on the website is of Charles sharing with a child.
I told you it has been busy!! I hope to get more regular with my blog as things start to slow down but next week we have 2 VBS and it is going to still be crazy busy!!! but I would not have it any other way.
